Shepherds take their flocks high up in the
Pyrenees Mountains to cooler pastures
in the summer.

 


Burgundy, Bordeaux, Beaujolais,
Champagne, Côtes du Rhone and of course Alsace…
every  fall  the French countryside is busy with the
grape harvest (les vendanges).  If it is hard work,
 it is also a time for festivals and fun.
 

   

This is a local festival in Catalonia, near the
Spanish border.  Tables are set up, chairs 
unfolded…everyone celebrates.
